This year he got a great surprise!
His Mom came to visit!
He hadn't seen her in over a year. (The longest they've ever gone.) He was so shocked and surprised he couldn't believe it!
(Thanks Jim and Diane)
We had so much fun!
Then Lily read Grandma and Liberty a bedtime story.
And the girls crashed...
We had fun fishing and exploring the backyard...
We visited Fishermans Park. (A local park that offers a huge picnic area, large geese that come right up to you, a beachy area where kids can wade in the water, deer, squirrels, a river walk and a playscape.)
Brandon even came with his family to visit from San Antonio. (Adam and he have known each other since they were born.) We had no idea they lived so close to us! It really is a small world.
We also took a drive into Austin to prove to Suesie once and for all that it really is full of bars! We decided to explore Zilker Park while we were there. Adam and I had heard that it was "the park" to go to no matter what you liked to do because it "has everything". It really was cool and we will definitely be going back but more prepared. You could swim, fish, hike, canoe, etc. There was a train that circled the 365 acre park so we had this picture taken of all of us while waiting at the train station. It really was a great visit.

So cool! I know he was stoked!
